Advocating and promoting the goals of the Spanish Fort Police Department and its members
The Spanish Fort Law Enforcement Foundation is a non-profit (501c3), which began in 2021 to support the mission of the Spanish Fort Police Department to create a safe environment where the citizens of Spanish Fort are able to live, work, play, and learn while improving the quality of life for the community as a whole.
Through fundraising events and donations from members of our business community and private citizens we are able to help the police department achieve this mission.
To have the environment we all seek in our community, it is important that our citizens and police know and trust one another and work together. The Foundation will assist in funding activities like community cookouts, park gatherings, and other functions that allow citizens and police officers to get to know one another. The police department’s goal is also to provide education in the schools and community to teach them how to stay safe and deal with the encroaching challenges that come with the population growth that Spanish Fort is experiencing.
Community Involvement
Recognizing excellence is a vital part of building and maintaining the highest quality police officers who are willing to go above and beyond the call of duty. The Spanish Fort Law Enforcement Foundation partners with police leadership with the goal of recognizing individuals who exemplify the mission of the Spanish Fort Police Department and its community.
Recognition
Spanish Fort Law Enforcement Foundation seeks to assist police officers in their pursuit of additional education and training beyond the minimum requirements of the position. Additional specialized training and education will result in a force equipped to handle the complex situations that often present themselves in the line of duty.
Education & Training
“With the support of the foundation, we will recruit, retain, and train the most qualified police officers in this region.”
— John Barber, Spanish Fort Chief of Police
